Can’t connect without having a router plug into the back of it. So it’s not WiFi as the box says

These cameras generally worked well. I'm still using mine after almost ten years! They're not HD obviously and their frame rate is slow but they were one of the first. Also they were difficult to setup, but that's just because they were new. I'm a computer geek but it still took me a while to figure out port forwarding etc. Wireless routers were much harder to use then as well. Nowadays you just scan a QR code on the camera and you're done!

HI Just a question do I have to set the static ip in the camera and in the router at the same settings , so it can always find the cam on the network ?

It would be GREAT if it was EXPLAINED ... HOW to get the camera to even show up in the IP Camera Tool app. DOH!

Quick question I can set the camera to record at a certain time But when I set it to finish the camera continues to record.. any ideas why it continues and does not switch off

Foscam ...the word scam is clearly in their name. They want your cam to work till warranty is out and you buy new. Any chinese knockoff is basically the same. Ive had two used on private non internet networks. They are POS. They brick themselves. Agree time to enjoy the sledgehammer! They will never get money from me again.

I had to reset the camera after setting it up once on my old router. It had worked great for two years. Well now I got it all set up-- can see my camera in the Foscam app-- but cannot log into it in a browser like here. "Username/passwords do not match." admin / [blank] doesn't work. admin / admin doesn't work. My old username and password don't work. Help!

I have this one. I have had several. The wifi will work for a year or 2 but eventually, it just quits. These cams are junk.

how do you logon to this camera using a mac and safari? I keep getting a timeout. It logons from windows computer with edge or IE but not on mac.

When I tried to login on foscam c1 camera from browser in windows, it gives error of username / password. While my password is blank and I can see my camera through my cell phone

I cannot get past the IP Camera Tool Screen. Mine shows err 2 under IP Address

Followed instructions except used Windows 7. Double-click down the cam Installed the active-x plug-in then received a certificate error. I manually added the certificate to the trusted certificates folder then another "certification authority not signed" error popped up and then then crashed the browser program. This sucks! Just when I thought I was getting somewhere I get dumped on again. Foscam will never get my business again.

Nicely done. Helpful. My foscam has a secure port and a stream port. I assume that these need to be port forwarded as well?

In case anyone is still setting this up today. In order to receive emails from gmail, you need to "allow less secure apps". Once you do this it the test email will work.

battery is horrible stay away

Video is out of date. You can no longer use Firefox or Chrome. They will not allow the needed plug-in to be installed. Also it does not cover using Windows 8 or 10.

When I unplug the ethernet cable it never pops back up on the IP CAMERA TOOL.. the back flashes green fast like he said but never connects? any idea?

The plug-in is not downloaded, but the EXE file (IPCWebComponents.exe) And no browser in 2017 supports Idiots

Alright guys, don't port forward your camera. Yeah I know it adds more convenience but there are other ways to remotely access your IP camera. Set up a VPN instead. If you don't know how to, ask your local tech to set up a VPN for you

Isn't there anything more recent?? Support on Foscam website is the same, no support for latest Firefox, chrome, Edge etc etc, on all the only thing that pops up is telling u the plugins not found. I have installed numerous times, rebooted. nothing works. as far as i'm concerned, Foscam suck. Steer clear of their cameras!!!

this product is absolute crap! you need to be a programmer to set it up.

bad tutorial all issues are prepared. missing how to find plugging and other extensions. to much talk about common knowledge. bad bad
